Altered Books First Try

I just haven't done it. Altered books - I've seen the videos, pages, beautiful pages, read the how to....but never really worked on one. A friend asked me to work in her book - actually, I proposed a book swap to some crafty-artsy friends and "Marie" and others took me up on it. So, here I am on the first try for Marie. I agreed to make 4 pages in her book using the theme of Hopes and Dreams. Thanks to my friends at AAWA for answering my many questions. I had fun using beeswax, stencils, inks and more for backgrounds.

I am thrilled that you've tried your hand at altering a book - you go girl!!

I adore the corsages - they "look" tiny, NOT gaudy!!!

I really like everything I'm seeing on your blog Barbara - I don't have enough time in the day to get to most of the wonderful blogs out there but am so glad I stopped by yours today!

Your first two pages are great! The best thing about altered books is you can do and use just about anything and it's a great way to use alot of "stuff" laying around!

Beautiful job! Do you want to keep on doing them now? Claudia and I are in an altered book club locally and I look forward to doing two pages each month.

I just happened about your blog through a link from someone's elses and I am glad I did. Your AB pages age wonderful. I have not worked on an AB for some time but you are sparking my interest in doing another.

Now, I am going back to look at more of the artwork you have posted.
