Barb, you are going to love your Cricut. You do have to take the time to play with it. Try all the settings,pressures and speeds to see which work the best with the paper you are cutting. Blade depth is important too. I made a little cheat sheet to keep with mine so I can see at a quick glance, though I have been using it enough that the info is sticking in my head. Have fun!
