A Special Birthday Gift

Participating in a birthday club swap is so much fun. I was so lucky to get Jean's name and knew right away I had to make her a Nutcracker. She is an avid collector... I started with a wooden base, coated him with Gesso and painted him with lively colors using Lumiere and craft acrylics. Embellishments were next. Thanks to the tutorials from Artfully Musing I payed more attention to the details, often layering and enhancing my embellishments with paint and other objects. I think he turned pretty good... and is now on route to his new home.
